Rishon Lezion Monument: Israel's Recognition of the Philippines' Humanitarian Efforts

I am very much interested with the ongoing talks between the Philippine Embassy in Israel and the City of Rishon Lezion on the Philippine Government's request for recognition for the country's humanitarian efforts extended to the Jewish People during the Nazi rule.

Everyone is aware of the fact that the Philippine Ambassador to Israel Antonio Modena has been very relentless in his efforts for this particular cause.

I requested for updates from the Cultural Attache Chester Omaga-Diaz, who happily told me that Rishon Lezion's Holocaust Memorial Park will be the site of the monument that will honor the Philippines for such efforts.

He also provided me with a copy of a photograph of Ambassador Modena in discussion with Rishon Lezion City Mayor Meir Nitzan.

Rishon Lezion is the first city in Israel to accord the Philippines with such recognition.

Everyone who helped the Jewish people during the Nazi rule deserves to be recognized. Kudos to Rishon Lezion!

B'nei Noah, indeed!

Based on your post, other Israeli cities can grant official recognition to The Philippines and sponsor similar endeavors of memoriam?
